Site Supervisor (Underground)

Job Summary
Coordinate site operations by leading departments, scheduling daily activities, and managing raw material ordering and preventative maintenance. Provide analytical support to the Area Manager on continuous improvement plans to decrease operational costs while assisting in fixed cost budgets, capital expenditures, and resource modelling. Conduct audits and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance and safety, complete mandatory inventory counts and reconciliations, and supervise employee training and performance. Analyze site inventories to minimize product quantities and improve profitability through stock rotation. Lead short, medium, and long-term planning activities while maintaining accounts in a safe and profitable manner to meet corporate goals.
Required Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Mining Engineering degree or equivalent
- Blasting Certificate or equivalent D&B certificate
- At least seven years underground mining experience and mass mining experience
- Experience leading a team, including building a collaborative approach
- Ability to analyse/impact financial data utilizing SAP, and Resource Modelling
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen supported by sound commercial judgement
- Mechanical comprehension of operation/maintenance of equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to present strategic logic and recommended pathways, coupled with the ability to present to key stakeholders
