Job Summary

Coordinate daily operations of the Child Care/Pre-School Center by establishing classroom policies, enforcing state licensing regulations, and maintaining appropriate staff levels and child-teacher ratios. Monitor and guide all staff to ensure quality teaching methods, review lesson plans, and implement the program curriculum while working in classrooms as a teacher on an as-needed basis. Oversee the daily food program, manage family enrollment and attendance reporting, and ensure all children's assessments and parent-teacher conferences are completed according to program regulations. Submit daily attendance reports, monthly narratives, and end-year documentation including ECERS and DRDP to the Program Director, and coordinate staff meetings and NAEYC accreditation preparation. Maintain current staff permits, CPR and First Aid certificates, and ensure compliance with health, fire, and safety drills. Provide feedback on employee performance and orient parents to the center program. Full-time, 40-hour week at $27.00–$29.21 per hour.

Required Qualifications

  • Site Supervisor Permit from the California Commission of Teacher Credentials
  • BA Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Three (3) semester units in the care of infants/toddlers
  • Two (2) years of management and/or supervisory experience
  • Six (6) semester units in supervision and/or management in CD/ECE
  • Two (2) semester units of adult supervision in CD/ECE
  • Pediatric First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certified
  • Preventative Health Practices Course - 8 hours
  • Must be 18 years of age to apply
  • Physical and mental fitness to engage in management service in children's centers
  • Love for children and ability to work with people harmoniously
  • Evidence of emotional maturity, stability tactfulness, and the ability to provide professional leadership
  • Ability to deal with conceptual matter
  • Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the public
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues
  • Ability to complete projects under tight deadlines
  • Must be committed to the goals and objectives of the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation
  • Regular attendance
  • Must meet State health requirements
  • Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance
  • Must submit to a flu vaccine once a year or provide waiver
  • Must provide vaccination records for influenza, pertussis and measles
  • Must provide proof of COVID 19 vaccination or apply for exemption
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license
  • Must have use of a motor vehicle
  • Must provide evidence of auto liability insurance
  • Must have a good driving record
  • Must have a cleared criminal record (FBI, DOJ and CACI)
  • Must obtain fingerprint clearance for continued employment
