Job Summary
Oversee overall site management of Fire, Security, and Building Automation projects to ensure timely completion within budget and scope. Supervise Project Specialists, Installers, and subcontractors in the field while mentoring staff and directing on-site activities. Coordinate project installation plans, verify quality assurance standards against national codes, and troubleshoot technical issues for systems requiring programming, testing, and repair. Recruit and hire Project Specialists and Installers, managing their performance and development. Identify project risks, communicate with stakeholders, and implement strategies to control cost deviations and deadlines. Provide customer training and technical support to maximize satisfaction. Requires frequent jobsite visits, a valid driver's license, and experience with building automation, fire alarm, and electronic security systems.
Required Qualifications
- College degree, trade school or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years relevant experience
- Relevant trade designation (e.g. Electrician)
- Valid driver's license
- Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper)
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings
- Advanced math skills (for some positions, this may include calculating area, velocity, resistance, voltage, etc.)
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to regularly work under pressure
- Strong supervision skills and installation experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems
- Strong field supervision skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
- Must be a self-starter and work well without supervision
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Advanced organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Highly proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electronics
- Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation
