Job Summary
Supervise Activity Specialists, Group Leaders, and Volunteers to ensure daily afterschool program operations run smoothly while maintaining the health and safety of all participants. Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans in Math, Literacy, Science, and cultural enrichment, actively facilitating activities that promote academic and social-emotional growth. Provide active supervision of children at all times, respond to behavioral concerns and medical needs, and document attendance, behavior incidents, and classroom observations per CPC policies. Collaborate with school administration and teachers to align on program goals, assist in creating marketing materials, and maintain accurate participant files and data entry in DYCD Connect. Foster an inclusive, strength-based environment for youth ages 5-12 and model professional relationships with children, families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in Education or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in an early education or school-age setting
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience
- Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated growth mindset with willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continuously develop professionally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and virtual communication platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom)
- Ability to learn and effectively use program-specific data and compliance systems
- Bilingual language skills preferred: Russian, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), or Spanish
