Job Summary
Site Supervisor at Yakama Nation Head Start in Wapato leads daily site operations, supervises staff, ensures compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, and oversees education, health, safety, nutrition, and mental health services. Responsibilities include staff meetings, program planning, curriculum delivery for 3- to 5-year-olds, assessments and data collection, family and community collaboration, parent committee activities, transitions to public schools, center health and safety compliance, program data entry and self-assessment, and ongoing professional development. Requires a BA in Early Childhood Education (or related field) with supervisory experience, First Aid/CPR, food handler certification, background check, driver’s license with Yakama driving permit, and ability to manage confidential information. Preference given to Head Start parents. Knowledge of Head Start standards, Yakama Nation policies, and confidentiality rules is essential.
Required Qualifications
- BA in Early Childhood Education or related field with 2 years of experience working with young children OR AA in Early Childhood Education or related field with 4 years of experience working with children
- Must have supervisory experience
- Must have current First Aid/CPR or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Must have current Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply
- Must pass pre-employment background check
- Must possess valid Washington State Driver's License with ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving Permit
- Must pass pre-employment drug test
