Job Summary
Plan, supervise, and implement childcare programs for before-school, after-school, summer camp, and school break care while ensuring compliance with State of California Community Care Licensing or California Department of Education Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs guidelines. Direct care for up to 28 children, including visual, proactive, and interactive supervision, while guiding behaviors using positive methods and maintaining a safe environment. Carry out lesson plans, manage program areas, and assist the Program Director in planning, administration, and staff evaluation. Maintain school relationships, track enrollment, control budgets, and meet quality expectations through surveys and audits. Requires a high school diploma, two years of childcare experience, and relevant certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years' experience working in a childcare setting
- Complete required certifications within 60 days of hire
- Complete all required Branch and Position specific trainings as required within two weeks of hire
- Ability to obtain Criminal Record Clearance
- Maintain a valid California driver's license
- active participation in the California DMV Pull Program
- an acceptable driving record
- approval status as determined by the Channel Islands YMCA and/or its insurance carrier
- Health Screening Report
- negative TB test
- California Community Care Licensing
- Must possess a minimum of 12 units of Child Development or related field
- 3 units in Administration
- Associate's Degree
- 48 college units
- Pass a District-selected assessment demonstrating knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
