Job Summary
Site Superintendent responsible for overseeing day-to-day site activities on commercial/residential projects in Fernie, BC. Manages field operations including safety posting, site setup, utilities, staging areas, and allocation of labour, materials, and equipment. Coordinates with Subcontracts to meet critical path timelines, maintains safe job sites in compliance with OHS and regulations, and enforces quality control standards. Produces daily site reports for the Project Manager, communicates with clients, architects, and engineers clearly and professionally, and leads productive relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders. Requires Red Seal carpenter certification or equivalent experience, ability to read technical drawings and specifications, strong leadership, communication, and problem‐solving skills, and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience in a Site Superintendent role in Residential/Commercial Construction Industry
- Red Seal carpenter or equivalent years of experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of commercial and residential construction industry and practices
- Ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate team members
- Strong verbal, written, presentation and training skills
- Strong problem solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Ability to lead various sized project teams
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with all stakeholders
- Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Ability and willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
