Job Summary
Site Superintendent overseeing commercial construction projects in Vancouver, BC. Responsibilities include coordinating field operations, managing GR/GC within budget, overseeing subcontractors, safety program development with EH&S, schedule creation and recovery, issue resolution on field matters, WIP and billing oversight, and potential supervision of Superintendent staff and interns. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of four years’ experience, strong contract-document interpretation, safety leadership, and effective communication. Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and Turner standards is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction or similar
- Minimum 4 years of construction supervision/management experience
- Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
- Working knowledge of safety, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, general contract and general conditions, subcontract documents, and construction accounting procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; supervisory and management experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard computer applications
- Familiar with continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to build relationships across projects to facilitate productivity
- Experience with WIP, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple trades and staff
- Knowledge of stormwater compliance and EH&S coordination (preferred)
- Ability to develop and manage project schedules and recovery strategies
