Job Summary
Coordinate and supervise all construction activities while assisting the Construction Manager in preparing detailed three-week schedules and updating monthly timelines to meet contract completion dates. Act as the primary liaison between subcontractors, engineers, and the owner to ensure work complies with project requirements and establish quality control procedures. Manage external resources, resolve client concerns, and identify potential schedule, budget, or quality issues to prevent disruptions. Ensure safety compliance for all on-site personnel and subcontractors, interpreting plans, specifications, and building codes to maintain project standards. This role requires travel to construction sites within California and OSHA 30 certification.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of the commercial construction management and commissioning process
- 5 years in a superintendent position, with professional experience that includes a wide range of experience in field operations and construction means, and methods
- Knowledge and understanding of the general scope of the construction industry including the ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, building codes, and other project documents
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building automation control systems in commercial and institutional facilities
- Capable of leading confidently in identifying, correcting and/or avoiding potential schedule, budget or quality issues. The ability to make decisions, while balancing cost implications, to avoid disruptions in the work or customer's operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project scheduling software
- OSHA 30 certification (or must be obtained within 6 months of assuming position)
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders while delivering excellent customer service in a highly dynamic growth environment
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, evolving, entrepreneurial work environment
- Ability to travel to construction project locations within California is a required component of this role and will be necessary to meet job responsibilities
- A valid driver's license is required
