Job Summary
Create, maintain, and execute the project plan and schedule while ensuring budget compliance. Supervise and coordinate all construction activities for new developments and interior renovations, directing Assistant Superintendents, Coordinators, and hourly staff. Develop site-specific plans and procedures to implement the Site-Specific Safety Program, ensuring adherence to safety and record-keeping requirements. Verify that materials and workmanship meet quality standards and design specifications. Resolve potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties by advising senior management and anticipating constructability issues. Assist in obtaining information from engineers, designers, inspectors, and municipal authorities. Manage resources for optimum efficiency and visualize the entire project to embed solutions in construction plans.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years' progressive commercial and/or Mid/High-Rise construction experience
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry operations specifically construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures
- Ability to lead and assess trade performance on the job
- Experience applying basic engineering principles to construction challenges
- Ability to visualize the entire project and anticipate constructability issues and embed solutions in the construction plans and schedules
- Ability to visualize and create the project schedules critical path
- Ability to schedule, monitor and forecast resources for optimum efficiency
- Ability to manage others and many facets of the construction project and assume responsibility
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook, Project, etc.)
- Knowledge of OH&S legislation, policies and procedures
