Job Summary
Monitor and maintain facilities including wells, pipelines, flow meters, and pressure gauges while performing preventative maintenance on fire systems, piping, and pumps. Weld steel pipe, fabricate components, and operate heavy equipment such as boom trucks, dozers, and forklifts as needed. Coordinate service tasks with managers and engineers, maintain parts inventory, and train personnel on equipment usage. Complete documentation for inspections, work orders, and technical tasks, and read blueprints for repairs. Work with HVAC technicians for needed repairs. This role supports the technical studies and evaluation phase at the Jerritt Canyon Gold Mine in Nevada.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-4+ years of hands-on field experience
- Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and alarm panels
- Basic computer and software skills
- Experience operating and troubleshooting pumps and piping problems
- Basic Mechanical skills
- Ability to walk on uneven ground in all weather conditions
- Ability to support group work in attainment of safety, environmental, equipment protection and production goals with a proven safety record
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary
Desired Qualifications
- General construction related experience including plumbing
- Some experience with PLC controls, troubleshooting, and programming
