Job Summary
The Site Services Apprentice works under the Site Services Foreman to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain process and facility equipment in water and wastewater plants. Responsibilities include operating hand and power tools, assisting with site preparation, documenting hours, parts, and materials in CMMS, aiding other craft workers, performing preventive and corrective maintenance (valves, pumps, piping, blowers, compressors), identifying and troubleshooting issues, ensuring safety compliance, and participating in a 24-hour on-call rotation. The role requires reading and interpreting manuals/work orders, working independently when needed, travel within the Tri-State Area or other service areas with occasional overnight stays, maintaining records, and upholding safety standards and professional communication with employers, clients, visitors, or regulatory personnel. Ability to travel within CA, read manuals, and operate equipment is expected. The position is full-time, with compensation based on experience and licensing/certifications, and offers benefits including tuition reimbursement and mentorship.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License
- CDL license preferred
- Autocrane and Forklift Certifications preferred (NSU-provided training available)
- Ability to operate heavy equipment preferred
- General understanding of water and wastewater treatment plant operations
- Must be able to work Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays on occasion
- Must be able to safely work in confined spaces (training provided)
- Must be able to safely handle chemicals (training provided)
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Basic computer skills required
