Job Summary
Administer and oversee the Health and Safety program to identify, eliminate risks, and ensure compliance with OSHA and local regulations. Conduct facility EHS inspections, perform hazard assessments, and lead injury investigations with report preparation. Develop and deliver required safety training for employees and contractors while maintaining accurate regulatory recordkeeping and division reports. Provide technical support for environmental, safety, and cost reduction projects, aligning with the Harsco Safety Strategy across global steel and metals operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from college or university or equivalent experience
- 3+ years' experience in a Health and Safety position
- Must have knowledge and enforce compliance of Regulatory requirements
- Valid Driver's license
- Willingness and ability to work conditions may include the following: working near moving mechanical parts, in outdoor weather conditions, and in extreme non-weather heat
Desired Qualifications
- Technical writing a plus
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health & Safety
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
- Exceptional presentation, project planning skills, delivery execution and oral and written communication skills
- Strong management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize effectively and provide direction to highly skilled individuals within the department
- Must be able to function well in a fast-paced environment under demanding deadlines and changing priorities and conditions
- Must be responsive and have excellent attention to detail skills
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
- Experience completing State/Federal/Local safety compliance reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Metrics and data driven. Must be able to interpret and speak with data
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Must be able to identify problems and then select the methods that will provide the best chance of solving them
