Site Safety Manager

Job Summary
Monitor and inspect the job site for health and safety compliance, identifying potential hazards that may result in injuries or accidents. Implement all proper safety and health policies onsite, discussing issues with the project manager, contractor, and other safety professionals. Provide health and safety training and information to all employees to ensure requirements are met at all times. Establish and manage a jobsite safety culture in accordance with Gray's safety program, while reviewing and evaluating contractor site safety programs. Assist in onboarding and mentoring new site safety team members, and mentor contractors to assure compliance with Gray guidelines. Maintain owner and Gray specified safety records, assist in developing project-specific site safety plans, and an emergency response plan. Confers with supervisory personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce. Manage multiple subordinate team members, including training, planning, assigning, and directing work. This role requires travel to project sites scattered throughout the United States and occasionally outside the U.S., with overtime potentially required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational or environmental health and safety (or similar)
- 5 years of related construction safety experience or training
- 5-10 years of related construction safety experience or training
- Leadership skills that helps cultivate a cohesive and successful team
- Light/heavy industrial construction experience
- Ability to identify known potential exposures and lead implementation of corrective actions
- Strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets
- NCSO certification
- Advanced First Aid certification
- Ability to travel to the project site per Gray's travel policy
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs
- Must occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs
- Accurate near and distant vision
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear
- Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Ability to be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions
- Ability to be exposed to high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration
- Ability to work with moderate to loud noise levels
- Ability to work overtime
