Job Summary
Serve as the on-site safety authority for active demolition, abatement, and environmental projects by implementing and enforcing site-specific Accident Prevention Plans and Activity Hazard Analyses in accordance with EM 385-1-1. Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments while leading pre-task planning and safety meetings with field crews. Manage permit programs for high-risk activities such as hot work and confined spaces, investigate incidents to implement corrective actions, and coordinate safety orientations and training. Interface directly with superintendents, project managers, and client safety representatives to ensure work is performed safely and compliantly. This role requires approximately 80-90% travel across regional and out-of-state job sites, with per diem and travel support provided.
Required Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and OSHA construction standards
- Proven ability to lead safety in active, production-driven job sites
- Confidence to enforce requirements while maintaining professional working relationships
- Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively
- Approximately 80-90% travel
- Regional and out-of-state job sites
