Job Summary
Site Reliability Engineer for Arista Networks' Engineering Productivity team. Build, deploy, and operate critical production systems in a hybrid cloud environment with a focus on scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and security. Proactively monitor, respond to incidents, and create runbooks; triage infrastructure issues and collaborate with product development teams to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions. Develop automation to reduce toil, maintain incident postmortems, plan maintenance windows, and drive best practices in infrastructure and platform design. Required skills include Go/Python/shell scripting, Linux administration, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD tooling, Kubernetes, monitoring stacks, and experience with databases and storage technologies. Knowledge of OSS systems and data-center/storage infrastructure is valued.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Masters degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in relevant roles
- Knowledge of Go, Python, or shell scripting for automation
- Strong Linux/UNIX administration and debugging
- Hands-on experience operating software/infrastructure at scale
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Ansible)
- Experience with CI/CD systems and tooling (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker, ArgoCD)
- Experience with containerization/Docker and virtualization
- Experience with monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, InfluxDB)
- Experience with Elasticsearch clusters
- Experience with database systems (MariaDB, Postgres, MongoDB)
- Experience with Perforce, Gerrit or similar version control systems
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud) and scalable production systems
- Ability to write automation to reduce toil and improve reliability
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
