Job Summary
Site Reliability Engineer at Sectigo tasked with designing and implementing solutions to reduce toil and ensure reliability of critical services. Responsibilities include instantiating and maintaining production infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management, building and maintaining centralized monitoring and time series data, automating deployments and operations following CI/CD practices, and collaborating with engineering and information security teams to improve operability and security. Participation in on-call rotations is required. The role is full-time and remote, based in the UK with preference for candidates within ~1 hour of Greater Manchester. Target compensation GBP 40,000–45,000 (approximately USD 50,000–56,250 depending on rate). Strong preference for a Bachelor's degree; 2+ years of equivalent experience acceptable in lieu. Ideal candidate has 3+ years in production environments, Linux/Unix administration, Git, Bash, Python, incident management, postmortems, and experience with Jenkins/DroneCI or similar, plus virtualization and data-center hardware experience. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, technology, or a related field strongly preferred
- Minimum 3+ years of software and/or operational experience in building and maintaining internet-facing production environments
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix systems administration
- Knowledge of source control tools (Git preferred)
- Strong scripting abilities in Bash and Python
- Experience with incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Experience in postmortems, incident response planning, and improving incident resolution procedures
- Experience running and maintaining real-world build systems (Jenkins, DroneCI, or similar tools)
- Programming experience using HTTP Service APIs
- Ability to mount and install network devices in data centers (routers, switches, servers)
- Virtualization experience (VMWare, Proxmox, Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager)
- Exposure to Security and Testing frameworks is a plus
- Exposure to regulated industries (Finance, Healthcare, Government) is a plus
- Experience with distributed data processing, databases, and large-scale file systems is a plus
