Job Summary
Site Reliability Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate and Investment Bank. You will develop, test, and debug automated software deliverables for applications, systems, and infrastructures; implement observability patterns and service level indicators; participate in incident triage and root-cause analysis; balance operational work with engineering tasks; and collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve reliability and efficiency. The role emphasizes writing high-quality, maintainable code, leveraging cloud services and containerized environments, gaining familiarity with monitoring and telemetry tools, and contributing to rotational support coverage as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 2+ years of applied experience
- Ability to code in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Java, Go)
- Proficient knowledge of infrastructure components (networking, cloud services, orchestration tools, containerized systems)
- Familiar with site reliability concepts, principles, and practices
- Familiar with observability and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk
- Familiarity with containers or common Server OS (Linux, Windows)
- Emerging knowledge of software, applications and technical processes within a given technical discipline (e.g., Cloud, AI)
- Emerging knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform)
- Emerging knowledge of common networking technologies
- Ability to work in a large, collaborative team and vocalize ideas with peers and managers
- Understanding of prioritizing and adjusting work plans to changes in responsibilities and projects
- Preferred: General knowledge of financial services industry
- Preferred: LoanIQ knowledge
- Experience with Agile and full software development lifecycle
- Eagerness to learn and apply new system processes and skills
- Capable of working effectively within an Agile team
