Job Summary
Site Reliability Engineer focused on Environment Automation to power hundreds of isolated GitLab environments for customers. Responsibilities include defining, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure across cloud providers using IaC (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes), building tooling for upgrades and configuration changes at scale, and supporting an observability stack to monitor multi-tenant environments. You’ll debug production issues, contribute to deployment/orchestration tools (Helm Charts, omnibus-gitlab configurations, multi-tenant workflows), automate operational tasks across environments, participate in on-call rotations, and help ensure environments are reliable, scalable, secure, and production-ready. Requirements emphasize hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production, Terraform/Ansible, Golang, and distributed systems in SaaS or managed-service settings, with a proactive mindset toward automation, documentation, and asynchronous collaboration. The role operates in a fully distributed, remote environment with global eligibility, and is part of GitLab Dedicated’s managed platform for customers worldwide.
