Job Summary
Site Reliability Engineer 3 - on-prem role focusing on maintaining the reliability and performance of PhonePe’s fintech infrastructure. Responsibilities include leveraging Linux/Unix administration, networking expertise, and open source tools to ensure services are always up and available. The role requires participating in on-call rotations, managing MySQL databases (with MariaDB/Percona as a plus), scripting with Perl/Python/Golang, and using automation and configuration management (SaltStack) across private cloud environments. Desirable experiences include container orchestration, NoSQL (Aerospike), Galera clustering, KVM/QEMU virtualization, and data-center related activities. Strong communication in English and a proactive, team-oriented mindset are expected.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in Linux/Unix administration
- extensive experience in computer networking
- working knowledge of networking and IP technologies
- experience with a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services
- ability to implement IT operations to maintain always-up, always-available service
- participation in on-call rotation
- communication in English
- Linux networking experience including IP, iptables, and IPsec
- experience with MySQL databases; Mariadb/Percona a plus
- scripting/programming skills (Perl, Python, or Golang)
- automation/configuration management tools (SaltStack)
