Job Summary
Supervise, mentor, and coach all medical clinicians including physicians and advanced practice providers at the assigned clinical site while ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and standards of care. Lead the implementation of a comprehensive clinical quality, risk management, and safety program, including analysis of clinical incidents and performance tracking. Partner with the Site Clinic Manager to develop strategic priorities, operational goals, and staffing models that optimize patient access and care quality. Provide high-quality, evidence-based outpatient primary care for an assigned patient panel, conduct routine preventive and acute care, and offer consultation to advance practice practitioners. Actively participate in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of medical providers, manage employee performance, and ensure compliance with HRSA, FTCA, CMS, and Joint Commission requirements. This role reports to the Chief Medical Officer and requires a minimum of three four-hour Saturday shifts per calendar year.
Required Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
- current California medical license
- DEA certificate
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics
- Minimum of 3 years of experience providing primary care in a family or community health setting
- At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor peers, and resolve conflicts constructively
- Knowledge of managed care, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance in healthcare settings
- Current BLS certification
- Must be able to navigate electronic medical records and other related IT systems efficiently with training
- Fulfill Immunization and fit for duty regulatory requirements
- Must have ability to perform confidential patient visits remotely including adequate internet/telephonic services and a remote workspace that protects patient confidentiality
- Expect prolonged standing, walking, and prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, with keyboard and mouse
- In addition to regularly scheduled shifts, must be able to work a minimum of three (3) 4-hour Saturday shifts per calendar year
- In addition to regularly scheduled shifts, it is required to be available to respond to after-hour calls regarding critical lab results for adult patients throughout the organization for a minimum of 2 weeks per year
- Travel among our medical clinics and administration in Marin, as well as occasional travel to community partners
Desired Qualifications
- FQHC experience
- Experience with EHR systems (EPIC preferred)
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
