Job Summary
Manage and supervise all piping and pipeline welding activities for subcontractors, ensuring works align with contract specifications and company requirements. Review welding procedure specifications and inspection requirements prior to and during welding, then inspect and evaluate welds according to specified procedures, standards, codes, and drawings. Monitor NDT requirements, including method, operator qualification, and execution, while checking static and rotating equipment quality. Attend necessary site inspection points and supervise regulatory tests. Represent the company in construction meetings with subcontractors, support non-conformance treatments, and collaborate on corrective actions. Report quality performance to the Quality Manager and review all related mechanical documentation, including inspection plans and material certificates. Participate in system transfers to commissioning. Requires a degree in Industrial Technical Engineering, certified welding inspector credentials, and 5+ years of experience in industrial facilities. Location: Tanzania.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Industrial Technical Engineering, mechanical speciality or other technical education
- Certified Welding Engineer / Welding Inspector (IW, WI, CSWIP)
- Qualification in Non Destructive Examination (RT, UT, MT, PT, Visual Inspector)
- Coating & Insulation inspection (AMPP, NACE, FROSIO, etc.)
- Tanks and Pipelines inspection (API 653, APL 570, etc.)
- Training and knowledge of International Standards in process engineering, piping structural steel, equipment, machinery as ASME I, I, V, VIII, IX B31.1, B31.3, AWS D1.1., API 650 and ASTM, EN, 150, BS Standards
- A minimum of 5 years engineering and/or construction working experience on industrial facilities: Oil, Petrochemical, Gas, Power Generation, Sugar/Ethanol
- Necessary proven experience as a resident for a long period in construction works
