Job Summary
Manage safe and efficient day-to-day operation of construction sites across wastewater infrastructure projects in the Yorkshire Region. Coordinate and supervise direct labour, plant, materials, and specialist subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme, within budget, and to required quality standards. Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site safety inspections while producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements to maintain compliance with Yorkshire Water standards. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and drive a right-first-time approach to delivery. Assist with resource planning, labour utilisation, and cost control initiatives while acting as the primary site representative to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Site Manager role within civil engineering or utility infrastructure projects
- Strong experience delivering wastewater, water, or utility infrastructure works
- Experience managing both direct labour and specialist subcontractors
- Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction programmes
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple work fronts simultaneously
- Full UK Driving Licence
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- CSCS Manager Card
- First Aid at Work
- Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working within Yorkshire Water or other UK Water Industry frameworks
- Knowledge of AMP programmes and wastewater treatment processes
- Temporary Works awareness
- Experience in confined space environments
- Understanding of NEC contracts and project delivery processes
- EUSR Water Scheme Registration
- Confined Space Training
