Job Summary
Provide visible leadership, direction, and coaching to the onsite security team while managing shift coverage, staffing schedules, and time-off requests. Oversee daily operations including access control, patrols, incident response, and report reviews to ensure compliance with post orders and client requirements. Prepare staffing schedules, manage shift coverage, and respond promptly to absences or operational changes to ensure all posts are properly staffed. Review timesheets, attendance records, overtime, and payroll submissions for completeness and accuracy; resolve discrepancies within required deadlines. Develop, review, and update post orders, standard operating procedures, emergency instructions, and site-specific training materials to reflect current risks and operational requirements. Track, validate, and submit monthly and quarterly security metrics, identifying trends, service gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Serve as the primary liaison between the security team, facility departments, site leadership, contractors, emergency services, and the Security Manager. Maintain timely, professional, and appropriate communication with the customer's Security Manager and the branch office regarding staffing, operational issues, incidents, performance concerns, and required follow-up actions. Conduct proactive analysis of security operations, incidents, staffing, patrols, access control, and service delivery, recommending practical risk-reduction and efficiency improvements. Lead the development and implementation of innovative practices, technology-enabled solutions, and operational improvements that strengthen security performance and customer service. Ensure team members receive effective onboarding, site training, refresher training, and competency assessments; provide immediate coaching and remediation when required. Promote compliance with company and customer policies, health and safety requirements, regulatory obligations, and client standards while working effectively across diverse teams and cultures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a security environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable Ontario legislation, regulations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements affecting property protection and the delivery of security guard services
- Working knowledge of security operations, including access control, patrols, alarm and CCTV monitoring, emergency response, incident management, workplace violence prevention, investigations within assigned authority, and protection of people and property
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and follow issues through to resolution
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic workforce, reporting, and security management systems
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license with clean driver's abstract
