Site Manager - Substation Automation

Job Summary
Site Manager to oversee operations on transmission and distribution projects across the UK. Coordinate people, subcontractors, and documentation to deliver projects safely, compliantly, and on schedule. Act as primary liaison between project team, customers, subcontractors, and third-party stakeholders; manage site activities from mobilisation through close-out, including permit management and workforce coordination. Prepare and submit RAMS, site reports, and drawings; monitor health and CDM compliance; track progress against the project plan and escalate risks. Occasional travel to offshore or overseas sites, including Nordics, may be required depending on project demand.
Required Qualifications
- National Grid Competent Person status
- Proven experience in site management within transmission and distribution or substation environment
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and site compliance standards
- Ability to manage site documentation accurately and submit reports in line with contractual and project requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical installation activities
- Familiarity with CDM regulations (nice-to-have)
- Experience on National Grid or large-scale infrastructure projects (nice-to-have)
- Relevant qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (degree, HND, or equivalent)
- First Aid at Work certificate (nice-to-have)
