Job Summary
Manage all wind farm operations for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems while leading site technicians and maintaining customer relationships. Direct daily activities, recognize and report error codes, and oversee the site budget, service logs, and overall turbine performance optimization. Serve as the direct line manager for all personnel, develop site staff, and drive the capture of out-of-scope service opportunities. Collaborate with engineering to refine maintenance strategies, implement operational feedback, and own the project's financial performance including P&L. Write routine reports, correspondence, and service orders while ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and physical fitness requirements for tower climbing and rescue operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years' experience in the wind industry
- minimum of 2 years of managerial experience
- Valid driving license (NON CDL / CDL)
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to deal with problems involving at least one concrete variable in standardized situations
- Must be able to pass a physical exam
- Must be able to pass drug/alcohol screening
- Must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Physically fit enough to free climb 300 ft multiple times a day while wearing 25+ lbs. of climbing gear
- Physically fit enough to work in extreme weather conditions
- Must be capable of rescuing team mate anywhere in tower in the event of emergency
- Must use a Personal Fall Arrest System when climbing a wind turbine
