Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day site operations, including inventory management, dispatch coordination, and customer communication to ensure efficient transportation and timely delivery execution. Negotiate competitive carrier rates, manage supervisory staff and dispatch personnel, and resolve delivery issues while maintaining safety compliance and addressing emergency situations. Monitor daily performance metrics, track active orders, and drive operational consistency through root-cause analysis to improve profitability and service quality. Gather information on inventory, budgets, and risks for corporate leadership while balancing cost considerations with service levels.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, or fleet operations
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced operational environment
- Experience coordinating carriers, drivers, dispatch operations, and customer communications
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting operational deadlines and service expectations
- Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS), inventory systems, and Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated experience analyzing operational performance metrics and implementing process improvements
- Strong understanding of safety practices and regulatory compliance within transportation or logistics operations
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
- Effective people management and team development abilities
- Process improvement and operational efficiency expertise
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation or dispatch management systems
- Strong understanding of KPI tracking, operational metrics, and performance management

- Ability to evaluate alternatives and make sound decisions based on service requirements, operational metrics, financial considerations, and customer impact
- Ability to support budget development and maintain adherence to financial targets
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in high-pressure or fast-paced environments
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced operational environment preferred
- Automotive transportation or vehicle logistics experience considered an asset
- Knowledge of carrier management and freight rate negotiation preferred
- Experience managing budgets, operational costs, and profitability targets preferred
