Job Summary

Site Manager in Training (MIT) is a field-based, 12-month development track designed to progress to a permanent Site Manager role. The MIT starts as a Field Quality Associate (FQA) and rotates across North America, shadowing an assigned Regional Manager, with frequent travel and deployments to live service locations. Responsibilities include interviewing, onboarding, mentoring, training, and managing workload for teams; monitoring performance and implementing improvement plans; developing growth strategies to expand the company’s presence at assigned locations; executing the company operating rhythm (Level 10 meetings); enforcing policies; applying quality systems (ISO, TS 16949, AIAG Core Tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA); conducting supplier quality audits and root-cause analysis; collaborating with cross-functional teams; driving process improvements, quality, reliability, and cost reductions; providing technical support to customers and staff; staying current on industry trends and regulatory requirements; identifying new business opportunities; and maintaining documentation in software systems. The role requires extensive travel, field-based work, and eventual relocation to a permanent service location based on business needs. Education/experience options include a bachelor’s degree in a related field or a skilled trades certification with manufacturing/quality experience, or a senior-quality/automotive professional background, plus a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and passport eligibility. The MIT program emphasizes active leadership development, mentoring, and hands-on responsibilities across multiple sites, with mandatory travel and potential overtime as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business (Operations/Supply Chain), or related field
  • OR Skilled trades certification (CQT, CQE, or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in manufacturing or automotive quality
  • OR Quality or automotive professional (Quality Manager, Quality Engineer, Program Manager, or similar) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; formal degree not required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be and remain eligible to be issued a passport for any required international travel or training
