Job Summary
Lead field operations for high-voltage AIS and GIS projects by overseeing daily task allocation, managing subcontractors, and ensuring technical integrity during installation, maintenance, and commissioning. Serve as the primary point of contact for product units and clients to resolve issues, while managing nonconformity reporting and documentation to maintain project timelines. Enforce strict safety compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and foster a culture of excellence across the site. This permanent role requires extensive travel across the UK, including holidays, weekends, and overtime, with no relocation assistance provided.
Required Qualifications
- The ability to lead field operations, including task delegation with subcontractors and various project stakeholders
- The capability to manage quality assurance processes, including identifying and documenting nonconformities
- An understanding of regulatory frameworks and safety standards, particularly the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
- An expertise in clear communication, allowing you to plan, execute, and report on complex projects effectively
- Extensive hands-on experience in substation primary plant construction and installation, including AIS/GIS equipment
- Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments across the UK
- Willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments
- Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments
Desired Qualifications
- A formal education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (such as City & Guilds, ONC, HND, or equivalent)
