Job Summary
Unlock all buildings, turn off the security system, and adjust lighting as needed. Sweep door entries and outside mats, replace burned-out light fixtures and switches, and check HVAC units for proper operation. Empty outside trash, clean spills and leaks, and perform minor plumbing repairs including clearing drains with an auger. Maintain restroom cleanliness, manage dispensers, and assist in cafeteria clean-up as requested. Help implement Energy Management Guidelines and follow all district requirements regarding physical health and citizenship. This 12-month hourly contract supports Jenks Public Schools in providing the safest, cleanest buildings and grounds for students, faculty, and the public.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Must have several general maintenance skills such as electrical, plumbing and mechanical
- Must be willing to sweep, mop or clean the building, if needed
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to sit for extended periods
- Must be able to twist at the neck and trunk
- Must be able to bend at the waist
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb step and/or extension ladders
- Must be able to handle objects and tools with hands
- Must have adequate hearing to exchange information
- Must have adequate vision including close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
