Job Summary
Oversee kitchen and dining room operations, including supervision, training, and coaching of staff. Plan balanced menus ensuring compliance with the Canada Food Guide, order groceries within budget, and assist in planning special events and cooking main meals. Perform administrative duties such as performance evaluations, scheduling, timesheet submission, invoice approval, and monthly inventory management. Contribute to health and safety program administration, maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas, and ensure proper meal presentation and portioning. Gather resident feedback to implement improvements and manage food supplies and equipment for cost-effective practices. Requires a Journeyman Certificate in cooking, five years of supervisory culinary experience, and Food Safe Certification. Full-time days schedule (9:30 AM to 5:30 PM) with a three-week rotational rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Alberta recognized Journeyman Certificate in cooking
- Red Seal
- Minimum of 5 years of Experience in a supervisory culinary role
- Food Safe Certification
- Knowledge of food production, quality control, and inventory management systems
- Experience in a commercial kitchen environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
