Job Summary
Lead factory testing, start-up, commissioning, and site acceptance testing for large, high-profile switchgear and busbar projects. Represent Service at all customer and contractor meetings, coordinate pre-site meetings, and provide technical direction to contractors and associates during installation and testing. Manage manpower needs, define scope of work, and gather documentation including submittals and as-built drawings. Monitor jobs for timely completion, provide first-level technical support, and resolve issues to avoid customer impact. Deliver daily status reports, Time and Material quotes, and final commissioning packages while maintaining customer satisfaction rates. Travel 80% of the time in extreme temperatures and perform heavy lifting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of applicable Electrical Technical School or Military equivalent
- Six years minimum same or similar work experience
- High school education or equivalent
- Construction management experience
- Critical infrastructure expertise with Switchgear, Busbar and Power Distribution
- Knowledge of construction, electrical and mechanical contracting
- Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing processes, data center infrastructure and commissioning processes
- Solid foundation of electrical power theory and application including thorough understanding of applicable safety procedures
- Expert analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to manage customer expectations during stressful situations
- High degree of communication, organizational and management skills
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to read and interpret electrical line diagrams and blueprints
- Ability to summarize and report all work related tasks performed
- Ability to give technical assistance via the telephone to customers on a regular basis
- Independently evaluate, recognize, and recommend acceptable customer solutions based upon site evaluation
- Recommend and direct activities at a customer site by leading technical activities of other technicians at a customer site
