Job Summary
Conduct daily site operations for highway, pipeline, or major maintenance projects by studying specifications to plan procedures, staffing, and schedules. Assemble teams of supervisory, clerical, engineering, and labor personnel; order tools and materials to meet work schedules; and direct subcontractors to coordinate construction phases. Inspect work in progress to ensure conformance with specifications and resolve construction problems with engineering and suppliers. Review progress, materials, and cost reports to adjust schedules as needed. Confers with labor representatives to resolve grievances and directs workers on major reconditioning projects. Requires valid driver's license, heavy equipment operation experience, and ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR 3 years of related experience and/or training
- Valid driver's license
- Clean Driving record
- Experience operating heavy equipment, especially milling machine, paving machine, roller, etc.
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Problem solving and priority setting skills
- Composure and conflict resolution skills
- Basic internet and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) skills
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, and stoop
- Must be able to sit, climb
- Must be able to handle extreme heat
- Must be able to handle moving mechanical parts and vibration
- Must be able to handle fumes and/or airborne particles
- Must be able to handle loud noise levels
- Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions

- OSHA or other relevant safety certificates
