Job Summary
Battery Engineering Manager China leads the engineering activities to develop and integrate batteries and electrification systems across global vehicle programs. Responsibilities include planning and realizing engineering activities to develop and validate batteries and electrification systems, performing functional analysis, specifying actuators and validation, optimizing BOM costs, performing design and system validation, defining testing and validation plans (OP and supplier), ensuring full traceability between power-system design and component requirements, developing technical specifications for battery and electric drive systems, and launching new product lines in line with the innovation roadmap. The role emphasizes building partnerships with suppliers, supporting worldwide core teams with training and explanation of performance and competitive advantages, and ensuring production transfer. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the R&D sector
- At least 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, working on battery sector
- Knowledge of the battery field, including cell technologies
- Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicles, particularly energy storage system controllers
- Expertise in systems engineering, control and software specification, software validation, complex system integration, and calibration
- Ability to work in an international team, including proficiency in technical English
- Proficiency in the toolchain related to the managed scope (requirements management, multiphysics simulations, FMEA, ticketing, rapid prototyping, calibration management)
- Experience with problem-solving techniques
- Ability to manage interpersonal relationships and communicate technical issues to clients, especially for the most complex problems
- Management of team workload and internal processes to maximize operational efficiency
- Strong leadership, communication, and personnel management skills
- Contributes to positive interpersonal relationships, proactively proposes organizational changes within and outside the team, and manages the team effectively
- Demonstrates a high level of initiative
- Sets goals and regularly evaluates them for the entire team
