Job Summary
Assist Project Engineers with technical advice, project performance reporting, and practical solutions to issues impacting agreed targets. Attend initial planning visits, concept reviews, and POAR processes to support value-for-money delivery. Support design and constructability reviews, including fit-for-purpose and value engineering assessments. Help identify potential hazardous site activities and ensure appropriate procedures and controls are implemented. Support project budgeting, cost monitoring, forecasting, subcontract progress claims, variations, and procurement activities. Ensure project works meet client, community, environmental, and legislative expectations while capturing lessons learnt. This role reports to the Project Manager within Downer's Energy & Utilities team, working with Logan Council on water infrastructure projects.
Required Qualifications
- A Structural Engineering qualification
- Minimum 1 year of project engineering experience within the water industry
- Experience managing subcontractors and supporting quality outcomes in project delivery
- Demonstrated financial management and reporting capability, including budgeting
- Clear and concise communication skills
- Sound computer skills
- Strong organisational/time management capability
- A collaborative relationship-builder who can work effectively with internal teams, alliance partners and stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to Zero Harm
- The ability to work well under pressure in a changing environment
