Job Summary
Direct and supervise site activities for the School Age Child Care Program, temporarily managing staff and volunteers to ensure a safe, healthy environment. Monitor youth whereabouts during indoor and outdoor play, implement enrichment activities, and maintain relationships with parents, schools, and community partners. Ensure all licensing regulations and state requirements are met, report incidents immediately, and maintain accurate time records. Complete required trainings, including DCYF certifications and food handler cards, while keeping the facility clean and orderly per school district standards.
Required Qualifications
- Be 21 years of age
- Completed 30 college credits in any one hundred-level or above college coursework or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry by DCYF
- Possess at least two years of experience working with children
- Volunteers; cooperate with school personnel in a positive, professional manner
- Maintain a facility in accordance with state licensing regulations and YMCA requirements
- Relate well to children and their families
- Meet and maintain training standards set by the state of Washington as a childcare professional, including completion of 30-hour childcare basics training and 10 additional yearly hours
- Complete required DCYF trainings within the first 7 days of employment
- Pass background check through DCYF and SSYMCA
- Provide proof of current TB and MMR vaccination/immunization records upon hire, must be completed within the first 7 days of employment and prior to first day of working with children
- First Aid, CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens training completed within 45 days of hire
- New Employee Orientation completed within 45 days of hire
- Food Handlers Card completed within the first 7 days of employment or have a current Food Handlers Card
- Proof of Auto Insurance
- Be available for up to 3 shifts per week, and/or up to 12 shifts per month
