Job Summary
Site Director Sub oversees and supports the School Age Child Care program at the South Sound YMCA in the absence of the Site Director, supervising staff/volunteers, ensuring safety and quality program delivery, implementing enrichment activities, maintaining licensing compliance, and coordinating required trainings and paperwork. The role emphasizes safeguarding youth, maintaining relationships with children, families, and school staff, ensuring proper supplies, time/attendance records, and adherence to YMCA policies and state regulations. Requires age 21+, 30 college credits, childcare training and DCYF/K-12 compliance, experience with children, background checks, vaccinations, and various trainings. Demonstrated leadership competencies include critical thinking, community engagement, and program/project management.
Required Qualifications
- Be 21 years of age
- Education: Completed 30 college credits in any one hundred-level or above college coursework or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry by DCYF (Department of Children Youth and Families)
- Submit college transcripts to MERIT for evaluation
- Possess at least two years of experience working with children; volunteers; cooperate with school personnel in a positive, professional manner; maintain a facility in accordance with state licensing regulations and YMCA requirements; relate well to children and their families
- Training: meet and maintain training standards set by the state of Washington as a childcare professional, including completion of 30-hour childcare basics training and 10 additional yearly hours
- Complete required DCYF trainings within the first 7 days of employment
- Pass background check through DCYF and SSYMCA
- Provide proof of current TB and MMR vaccination/immunization records upon hire, must be completed within the first 7 days of employment and prior to first day of working with children
- First Aid, CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens training completed within 45 days of hire
- New Employee Orientation completed within 45 days of hire
- Food Handlers Card completed within the first 7 days of employment or have a current Food Handlers Card
