Job Summary
Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) supports the clinical team by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, collecting co-pays, accurately relaying insurance benefit information, and providing authorization details. The PCC performs tasks to relieve clinical staff of administrative and clerical duties, greets patients and visitors, updates patient charts, collects demographic and insurance information, and manages appointment scheduling and cancellations. Responsibilities also include explaining benefit details, reading benefit eligibility, initiating appropriate collection activity, and maintaining essential reporting to ensure timely task completion. The role requires strong front-desk and administrative skills, familiarity with medical billing and insurance processes, and effective communication with patients and therapists to deliver excellent patient experiences.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two to three years of related experience and/or training
- Associate degree in healthcare administration or a related field of study preferred
