Job Summary
Prepare and coordinate all site/civil design aspects, including client communication, budget oversight, and the preparation of construction documents and technical reports. Supervise internal junior staff and collaborate with Senior Project Managers to establish milestones, monitor progress, and deliver quality design products through engineering analyses and cost estimates. Manage plan and permit processing for land development activities, ensuring projects meet technical requirements on time and within budget.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in civil design of land development activities including: design of grading, storm water management, soil erosion & sediment control, public and private roadways, storm drainage and water & sewer design
- PE in Virginia preferred
- Proficient in preparation of graphics, exhibits and Site/Civil Construction Plans
- Strong technical capabilities in various Software Applications
- Strong understanding of site/civil design for energy & utilities, higher education, and public and private land development
- Proficiency in Civil 3D or other model-based software
- Experienced individual must be capable of delivering projects that meet technical requirements on time and within budget
- Skill sets must include performance and /or direction of specific engineering work on diverse civil site design projects across market segments and with varying degrees of complexity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to become proficient in Dewberry engineering practices, standards, and Dewberry-specific software programs
