Job Summary
Load and unload pallets from trailers with precision, moving materials to correct warehouse locations while maintaining organization. Complete daily forklift inspections using provided checklists and safely refuel propane or electric tanks. Verify load counts on paper or electronically, acting as the final inspector for all trailer loads and ensuring accurate documentation. Maintain a clean environment and comply with all safety guidelines and PLA policies. This role requires at least six months of forklift experience and proficiency in operating a sit-down forklift. Applicants must pass PLA's on-site certification test and possess excellent vision for navigating the warehouse. Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in operating a sit-down forklift
- Must pass PLA's forklift certification test (on-site certification provided if needed)
- Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions, equipment sounds, and safety alarms in a warehouse environment
- Excellent vision (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus) for operating machinery, reading documentation, and navigating the warehouse safely
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment, as well as standing, walking, bending, and stooping as needed
- Capable of performing light to moderate physical tasks, including occasionally lifting or maneuvering materials if required by the role
- Requires good manual dexterity and foot coordination for operating forklift controls
- Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
- Steel-toed boots and other personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required
