Job Summary
Instruct high school athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to achieve individual and team success while promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and character. Supervise and coordinate a staff of coaches, implement athletic policies and regulations, and provide professional development through clinics and observation. Manage scheduling, transportation, and equipment; document injuries and eligibility; coordinate public relations efforts and recruitment to sustain program growth; mentor athletes toward academic and athletic achievement. The role reports to the athletic director and principals and requires leadership across the sports program, with a focus on safety, discipline, and positive student development.
Required Qualifications
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program
- Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport
- Must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes
- Reports to athletic director and principals
- Supervises staff of coaches
