Job Summary
Manage, maintain, and optimize VMware-based virtual infrastructure supporting classified and unclassified operations at Los Angeles Air Force Base. Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts for complex VDI, virtualization, and systems integration issues while designing, implementing, and sustaining solutions in accordance with DoD security requirements. Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity across SIPR and NIPR environments, supporting upgrades, patching, and infrastructure modernization. Collaborate with cybersecurity and engineering teams to ensure compliance with applicable policies and develop technical documentation for operational procedures. Provide mentorship to system administrators and ensure operational readiness of enterprise virtualized systems. Requires 15 years of experience, VMware VCAP certification, and an Active Secret Clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in systems administration, virtualization, enterprise infrastructure, or network operations
- Extensive hands-on experience supporting VMware VDI and enterprise virtualization platforms
- Demonstrated experience supporting SIPR and NIPR environments within a DoD or government setting
- Strong understanding of virtualization architecture, storage systems, server infrastructure, and enterprise systems management
- Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving advanced VMware and VDI-related issues
- Ability to work effectively in high-security, mission-critical environments
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills
- Active Secret Clearance or above
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) certification required
- DCWF Role (451): Systems Administrator – Advanced
- Onsite at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting U.S. Air Force or Space Force IT operations
- Familiarity with classified network operations and secure enclave environments
- Experience with VMware Horizon, vSphere, ESXi, NSX, and enterprise storage technologies
- Additional certifications such as Security+, CISSP, VMware VCP, or Microsoft certifications preferred
