Job Summary
Linguists sought to support current and future foreign language requirements for Yorktown Systems Group (YSG) and The Unconventional (TU) across interpretation, translation, transcription, and other linguistic support services. Roles may involve in-person and virtual interpretation, written/electronic/audio/video translation, document review/editing, and foreign language instruction in classroom or online settings. The open evergreen requisition targets multiple language-support opportunities within the YSG/TU portfolio and includes both CAT I/II/III-category linguists with varying security clearances. Candidates may be considered for a range of language-support roles across different clients and contracts; locations include remote CONUS availability with specific remote sites identified (Huntsville, AL and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA). Travel may be required. Must meet ILR proficiency requirements, demonstrate ability to interpret and translate accurately, maintain source-tone, and work effectively as part of a professional team. Clearance requirements vary by CAT level, with CAT II requiring SECRET and CAT III requiring TOP SECRET with SCI access; CAT I involves LN/TCN/uncleared U.S. citizens with government vetting.
Required Qualifications
- Category I (CAT I): ILR level 2+ in English; eligible for local hire from outside AO; security vetting by Government personnel
- Category II (CAT II): ILR level 2+ in English; US citizens; security vetting; potential interim SECRET access under DOA rules
- Category III (CAT III): ILR level 3 in English; US citizens with TOP SECRET and SCI access or interim TS with SCI access; ability to perform idiomatic translations and interpretation; experience in foreign language instruction for adults; ability to work under high pressure; ability to function as part of a specialized team; knowledge of specialized vocabulary in both English and target language; willingness to live/work in harsh environments; travel may be required
- Shall have ability to provide idiomatic translations of nontechnical material, consecutive interpretation, cultural familiarity, and provide translation/interpretation across English and foreign language
