Job Summary

Provide real-time phone support for technical issues on training center flight simulators and execute recurring preventive maintenance tasks. Diagnose and resolve complex simulator deficiencies by reading electrical and electro-mechanical drawings, interpreting diagnostics, and performing hands-on fixes on Full Flight Simulators. Replace defective components, validate snag fixes, and maintain configuration control for software and hardware elements. Log all work formally in the CMMS and update technical documentation as required. This part-time/on-call role involves 8-10 hours of daily work sitting, standing, or walking, with the ability to lift 25 lbs. Candidates must possess 7 years of direct simulator experience and expert skills in soldering and circuit board repair.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent related training
  • 7 years direct simulator experience
  • 5 years relative to simulators per assigned location
  • Advanced experience in troubleshooting to system level on multiple types of simulators
  • Expert level experience in the use and interpretation of diagnostics available on multiple types of simulators
  • Expert skills in the operation of test equipment
  • Expert skills in soldering and circuit board repair
  • Advanced knowledge of PCs and MS-Office tools and suite
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time up to 8-10 hours per day
  • Ability to pick up 25 lbs or more
  • Stooping, squatting may be required
  • Able to repair equipment in various spaces
