Job Summary
Perform advanced troubleshooting, fault isolation, and corrective maintenance on flight simulators and associated systems. Conduct preventive maintenance, visual alignments, calibration activities, and system performance checks to ensure maximum simulator availability. Execute and evaluate Qualification Test Guide and Approval Test Guide procedures while maintaining accurate records in the maintenance management system. Lead shift technical activities, coordinate with the Group Leader and Maintenance Planner, and provide mentoring to junior technicians. Support engineering projects involving hardware modifications, software updates, and simulator upgrades, ensuring compliance with CASA, OEM, and customer requirements. Work a rotating roster of four days on and off (Day, day, night night) from 7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am at the Sydney Training Centre in St Peters, NSW.
Required Qualifications
- A technical trade qualification, diploma, degree, or equivalent technical training in electronics, electrical, mechanical, aviation, or a related discipline
- A minimum of five years' experience in simulator maintenance, aviation maintenance, defence systems, industrial automation, or a comparable technical environment
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across electrical, electronic, mechanical, computer, and network-based systems
- Experience using test equipment and diagnostic tools
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one major simulator system such as: Motion systems, Visual systems, Aircraft systems, Computer or network infrastructure
- Experience leading technical activities and mentoring team members
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work 4 days on and off (Day, day, night night) rotating roster from 7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am
