Job Summary
The Simulator Technician role involves the operation, maintenance, and reliability of full‐flight simulation training devices. Key responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, assisting in troubleshooting, conducting pre‐ and post‐flight activities, executing logistics tasks related to parts receiving, repair, testing, and validation, as well as providing customer service to instructors and trainees. Required qualifications include completion of an avionics or electro-mechanical technology program, at least three years of relevant experience, familiarity with diagnostic tools, and strong electronic troubleshooting skills. This position requires competency in Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency in soldering.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a formal avionics/electro‐mechanical technology program
- Minimum 3 years equivalent experience specifically in flight simulator, motion‐platform, or aerospace‐grade test system maintenance
- Familiarity with diagnostic and calibration tools (e.g., NI LabVIEW, MATLAB)
- Ability to interpret system prints and schematics
- Simulation Systems knowledge including motion system, electromechanical systems and interphase system
- Knowledge of Visual Systems including ACE Clutter, Visual Main UI, Theotalk, ANDS, GNDBS
- Strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation
- Proficiency in soldering and precision electronic repair
- Skilled in electronic troubleshooting and circuit board repair (SMT and through‐hole)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting, tuning, and maintaining motion, control, and visual platforms in full‐flight simulators
- Ability to perform diagnostics, sensor alignment, and calibration using advanced test equipment
- Familiarity with real‐time simulator operations, documentation, and qualification processes
- Experience with specialized software platforms supporting flight simulation, visual systems, motion/control, and troubleshooting applications
