Job Summary
Conduct daily inspections of USSRC electro-mechanical, audio-video, and computer-driven exhibits to maintain safety and appearance. Repair, modify, and design simulators covering technical hydraulic, mechanical pneumatic, robotics, and audio-visual systems. Troubleshoot and complete computer hardware, software, and networking requests while ensuring accurate documentation. Work flexible hours to support Space Camp Operations, requiring some travel and comfort working at heights up to 50ft.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- completion of a 2-year technical degree in electronics (Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar degree)
- equivalent work experience
- Experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electronics, computers and mechanical devices
- ability to use the tools, equipment, and materials for this job profession effectively and safely
- valid driver's license
- appropriate references
- Must be able to use/be familiar with the tools of trade
- Must be able to walk and climb (stairs, ladders) to access work-related areas
- Must be able to push, carry, and lift equipment to 50lbs waist high
- Must be able to bend, kneeling, and reaching to maintain and repair simulators and exhibits
- Sight, reading, wrist movements, feeling to inspect, maintain and repair simulators and exhibits, to operate tools of the trade
- Talking, hearing to communicate with employees, guests and contractors regarding simulators and exhibits
- Driving skills to operate equipment such as forklifts, man lifts and carts
- Comfortable working at heights of up to 50ft
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- You must be willing to work very flexible hours
