Job Summary
Simulation Engineering Intern role focused on developing and executing simulation models to support engine, thermal, structural, fluid, and system-level analyses; validating simulation results with experimental/test data; collaborating with mechanical, combustion, controls, and test engineers to evaluate concepts and optimize performance; analyzing and interpreting results to provide engineering recommendations; assisting with automation of simulation workflows, data processing, and reporting; documenting methodologies, results, and conclusions in technical reports and presentations; supporting design reviews and engineering decision-making with analytical insights. Preferred tools include ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink, GT-Power, COMSOL, Abaqus, STAR-CCM+, Fluent; proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++; knowledge of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural mechanics; experience with large datasets; prior hands-on engineering projects (e.g., Formula SAE, Baja SAE, rocketry, UAV) are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing or completed engineering degree relevant to simulation/engineering
- Experience with simulation/analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink, GT-Power, COMSOL, Abaqus, STAR-CCM+, Fluent) preferred
- Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, or C++ preferred
- Understanding of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural mechanics preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
