Job Summary
Game Localization QA Tester for freelance contract focused on ensuring linguistic accuracy and quality across Japanese and Simplified Chinese content in video games. Responsibilities include identifying, isolating, documenting, and verifying localization/linguistic issues; following test cases and checklists; writing bug descriptions to company/client standards; applying knowledge of the target market to influence product quality; proactively identifying gaps in test coverage; collaborating with partner teams; providing constructive feedback on gameplay, balance, and user experience; and performing tasks related to manual testing across multiple gaming platforms. Essential skills include near-native Japanese, strong English reading/writing for testing documentation, good Simplified Chinese, attention to detail, strong communication, multitasking, team collaboration, and familiarity with basic Microsoft Office. Bonus: immediate availability, prior game testing or localization experience, familiarity with bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Mantis, Bugzilla) or CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ).
