Job Summary
Review construction plans, specifications, and pricing information to prepare accurate cost estimates and bid documentation. Perform detailed material quantity takeoffs, support cost analysis, and collaborate with project teams on estimating practices and data collection. Order, read, and interpret preliminary documentation while communicating with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors for pricing and scope clarifications. Participate in bid review meetings, project setup handoffs, and post-project reviews to track variances and update estimating databases. Support market analysis activities and present completed estimates to senior management and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
- Valid Driver's License
- clean driving history
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical diagrams, financial data, and related documentation
- Strong organizational and time‐management skills
- Analytical mindset with solid problem‐solving and critical‐thinking abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and overtime
- overnight travel may be required
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of estimating or construction‐related experience
- experience with highway paving, bridge construction, utilities, municipal, heavy civil, or commercial construction
- Proficiency with computers and mobile devices (Android/iOS), including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- experience with estimating and construction software such as HCSS, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar programs
